About Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery

Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery in Dixon, Illinois, is a recovery residence operator running sober living homes for men and women across northwest Illinois.

A Recovery Community Organization

Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery describes itself as a recovery community organization serving Lee, Whiteside, DeKalb and Ogle counties. Beyond housing, it assists people seeking recovery to find detox, treatment, counseling and other therapeutic options. The housing is one arm of a wider community operation, which means someone who approaches the organization without a clear idea of what they need is not turned away for asking the wrong question first.

SVVOR Sober Homes in Dixon and Rock Falls

The organization operates Legacy Sober Living Home, a men's house at 114 East Everett Street in Dixon, and Cledy's House of Hope, a women's house at 430 Martin Road in Rock Falls. One organization therefore covers both genders inside a single four-county service area. Dixon is the Lee County seat and Rock Falls stands on the Rock River in Whiteside County, so the two houses sit in different counties within the same stretch of the valley.

One Program Across Every Address

SVVOR applies standardized policies at all of its locations. Residents commit to a one-year recovery plan, receive weekly peer recovery coaching at no additional cost, and are assessed on a bi-weekly electronic cycle through the ERP Health Platform. A year is a long enough horizon to carry a resident through a probation period, a job search and a return to stable housing rather than only through the first unsteady months.

Who SVVOR Houses

Applicants pass a background check and must be actively engaged in a recovery program. Because the policies are standardized, that is the requirement at both addresses, and a counselor working with a man in Dixon and a woman in Rock Falls is working to one set of terms.

Growth Through Local Support

Cledy's House of Hope exists because Highlight Healthcare donated two buildings at 430 Martin Road in Rock Falls to SVVOR. One of the two buildings became the women's house.

Certification

IAEC lists this operator's Legacy sober living homes among Illinois' certified recovery residences, which places the organization's housing under a standard set outside it.
