About Recover with Agape

Recover with Agape is a men's sober living operator in Charleston, West Virginia, running two certified recovery residences in Kanawha County. The two addresses hold sixty beds between them at opposite ends of the state's certification scale, one at the highest tier and one in the middle.

A Kanawha Valley Recovery Housing Provider

The organization operates a forty-eight bed high-support residence on the MacCorkle Avenue corridor and a twelve-bed monitored house on Kanawha Boulevard East. That pairing is unusual for a two-house operator. Most run comparable houses; this one runs an entry program and a step-down house, which means a man can move from the most structured tier West Virginia certifies into ordinary monitored recovery housing without changing organizations.

  • A forty-eight bed men's residence at Level 4 on MacCorkle Avenue SW.
  • A twelve-bed men's residence at Level 2 on Kanawha Boulevard East.

Level 4 and Level 2 Under One Operator

Level 4 is the highest tier the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences recognizes, describing service-provider housing with clinical or credentialed staff on site and structured daily programming. Very few certified residences in the state hold it. Level 2 describes monitored housing with structured expectations and outside clinical care. Running both means the operator can take a man directly from an institution and later hand him a lighter household.

What the Two Houses Cost

The Level 4 residence charges a $150 non-refundable deposit and $275 a month, and the Level 2 house charges $425 a month. Pricing the high-support program below the step-down house is deliberate: the men who need the most structure are the ones least likely to have income when they arrive.

Certification and Medication Policy

Both residences are certified by the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, and both accept residents on medication for opioid use disorder.
