Jackie Nitschke Center
About Jackie Nitschke Center
Jackie Nitschke Center is a sober living operator based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, running certified recovery residences across Brown County. Founded in 1973 and renamed in 1997 to honor Jackie Nitschke, a recovery advocate and the wife of Packers linebacker Ray Nitschke, the center runs a full continuum of addiction treatment. It operates three certified recovery homes in Green Bay: Cornerstone Recovery Home for men, Lyndahl Recovery Home for women, and Sandy Fabry Recovery Home.
A Green Bay Recovery Housing Provider
The Jackie Nitschke Center is the only adult residential treatment center in Brown County certified to treat co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders together. Its recovery homes are the housing side of that work: a place for residents to live once a clinical program ends, with a recovery coordinator checking in instead of daily clinical supervision.
Fifty Years of Treating Addiction in Brown County
The center has operated in Green Bay since 1973, longer than almost any other addiction treatment provider in northeastern Wisconsin. It positions itself as one of the more affordable programs in the country and reports one of the highest completion rates of any provider its size.
Three Certified Homes in Green Bay
Three certified recovery homes carry the Jackie Nitschke Center name in Green Bay:
- Cornerstone Recovery Home, in Green Bay, for men.
- Lyndahl Recovery Home, in Green Bay, for women.
- Sandy Fabry Recovery Home, in Green Bay.
Keeping men and women in separate residences means house meetings, shared space and rules are each written for one population, and nobody at either address is the only person of their gender in the building.
WASH Certification Across the Portfolio
All three recovery homes carry certification through the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing, the state's only NARR affiliate. WASH certifies residence by residence, and an operator that carries it across its whole portfolio has committed every address it runs to the same published code of ethics and outside complaint review.
One Continuum, From Residential Treatment to Housing
The center's programs run from a 28-day medically supervised residential program through intensive outpatient care, ongoing outpatient therapy and alumni support, with its recovery homes sitting at the end of that continuum. A resident can move from residential treatment into Cornerstone or Lyndahl without changing organizations or losing continuity of care.
A Scholarship Program Built Into the Model
The center funds two full scholarships every month through its Legacy Scholarship program, covering the entire treatment continuum for applicants who could not otherwise afford care. That commitment extends the center's reach past residents who can pay out of pocket.
Recovery Housing for Northeastern Wisconsin
Green Bay is the seat of Brown County and the largest city in northeastern Wisconsin, drawing residents from smaller communities across the region. The Jackie Nitschke Center's recovery homes put those residents inside a city with the courthouse, outpatient providers and technical college most of them need during recovery.
