Michael has worked as a certified alcohol and addiction counselor for more than twenty years, and Tiffany has been active in a 12-step program for many years, and the two run the organization together. That size means admissions, house rules and the day-to-day recovery coaching all trace back to people who have been through recovery themselves.

Level II Certification Under Indiana's Designation Framework

The organization's Bloomington residence carries Level II designation on Indiana's DMHA Recovery Residence list, which ties it to a published code of ethics under the Indiana Affiliation of Recovery Residences and makes Indiana's Recovery Works funding available to residents who qualify.

A Coed Recovery Housing Provider

Unlike many Indiana operators that keep men's and women's housing in separate buildings, Courage to Change House runs its Bloomington property as coed housing, built around the idea that recovery coaching and peer support work the same way regardless of gender.
