About Community Leadership and Development

Community Leadership and Development is a sober living operator and faith-based nonprofit in Billings, Montana, running the Hannah House campus for women in Yellowstone County since 2012.

A South Side Billings Nonprofit

Community Leadership and Development has worked in the South Side neighborhood of Billings for more than four decades, with a mission built around rebuilding lives, restoring families and strengthening the neighborhood through gospel-centered programs. Recovery housing for women is one piece of a broader portfolio that also includes job training, youth work and affordable housing.

The Hannah House Campus for Women

The Hannah House campus is a group of recovery homes for women exiting incarceration or treatment and recovering from addiction, expanded in recent years to grow both bed capacity and space for residents' children. Women commit to a minimum nine-month stay, with the option to move into transitional housing on campus for twelve to eighteen months as they stabilize further.

A Six-Phase Recovery Process

Residents move through a six-phase program built on intensive case management, weekly Bible study and a structured relapse-prevention curriculum. Core goals include steady employment, community resources, healthy relationships and reunification with children where courts and child welfare agencies approve it. Drug and alcohol testing is mandatory throughout.

Recovery Housing for Yellowstone County

Billings is the county seat of Yellowstone County and the largest city in Montana, and Community Leadership and Development's South Side location keeps residents close to downtown services, the courts, and partner agencies, including Riverstone Health and local drug courts, that refer many of the women who apply.
