How Access and Care Recovery Home Staffs Its Houses

The credentials sit inside the houses. The operations manager at Access and Care Recovery Home holds a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential earned in 2022 and spent five years at RICARES, the state's recovery community organization and its NARR affiliate, supporting hundreds of people in recovery. That manager also wrote a reentry curriculum and has run weekly support groups for LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized communities. The house manager works as a substance use disorder counselor alongside that role, so residents live with both peer leadership and clinical knowledge on hand.

The current roster carries two Access and Care Recovery houses in Providence at NARR Level 3, the supervised level, which is consistent with the staffed model the provider runs.

Two Providence Addresses Under One Operator

Both Access and Care Recovery houses sit inside the city of Providence, one in the 02908 postal district on the north side and one in 02909 to the west. The 02909 residence is the gender-neutral house and the 02908 residence takes men. Providence County holds the largest share of Rhode Island's certified recovery housing, and an operator running supervised houses on two sides of the same city can place a resident in either without moving him out of the neighborhood where he works and gets treatment.
