Onyx 410 Recovery House

Main Street, Somerset, Wisconsin, 54025

About this Recovery House

Onyx 410 is a sober living home in Somerset, Wisconsin, in St. Croix County, one of two Onyx houses in the village and the smallest in the network at five beds.

Five Beds Make This the Smallest Onyx Sober House

Five residents is close to the size of a family. There is no anonymity in a house that small, which suits some people in early recovery and does not suit others. Chores, quiet hours and the state of the kitchen get settled by conversation. A relapse is noticed the same day. For a resident coming out of a treatment facility with forty beds, the drop in scale is the largest single change, and it is worth asking the operator directly whether five is the right number for a first placement or a later one.

Operated by a Certified Sober Living Operator

Onyx Sober Living holds certification from the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing on six of its eight houses. Certification in Wisconsin is granted residence by residence, so it belongs to an address and never to a brand. What an applicant to this house can rely on is the operator's record with the certifying body: an organization that has taken six houses through a voluntary code of ethics, a written fee and rule disclosure and an external complaint process runs its remaining two under the same management, the same staff and the same expectations.

What the State Registry Records About This Recovery Residence

Onyx 410 has been on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services recovery residence registry since December 2024. The registry is voluntary and self-attested. The department does not inspect a registered house, does not license it and does not endorse it. The entry does put the county, the city, a capacity of five and a policy of accepting residents on medication for opioid use disorder onto a public record, and registration is what makes a residence eligible for referrals under the state statute that created the list.

Somerset Sober Living on the St. Croix River

Somerset is a small village in the northwest corner of St. Croix County, whose seat is Hudson, on the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River. It carries fewer services inside its own limits than a county seat, and its position on the valley corridor keeps New Richmond, Hudson and the Twin Cities metro within a manageable drive for work, appointments and family. A resident who wants distance from the neighborhood where they were using, and who still needs a metro job market, tends to end up somewhere shaped like this.

Two Somerset Recovery Homes Under One Operator

Onyx 412 is the second Onyx house in the village, also registered for five residents. Beyond Somerset the network reaches New Richmond, Menomonie and Amery, and the Onyx Foundation behind it runs re-entry programming, advocacy for better recovery services and public education on addiction alongside the housing.
