About this Recovery House

Kanawha Valley Fellowship Home, Inc. is a men's recovery residence on Virginia Street East in Charleston, West Virginia, the state capital and seat of Kanawha County. Fifteen men live here under Level 2 certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences.

The Main Men's Sober House in the Fellowship Home Portfolio

Fifteen beds makes this the largest of the organization's three Charleston addresses and the entry point for most residents. Virginia Street East runs the length of the city from downtown through the East End, one of Charleston's principal residential and commercial spines, and the address puts a man within walking distance of the Capitol complex and a short bus ride from the county courthouse.

What Level 2 Certification Establishes

Level 2 in West Virginia's framework describes monitored recovery housing with structured expectations, where clinical services come from outside providers. Certification commits the house to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process outside the household. Since 2024 the state has made certification the condition for public funding and referrals.

Medication-Assisted Recovery in This Kanawha County Recovery Home

Residents on medication for opioid use disorder are accepted. Charleston has the widest range of prescribers in southern West Virginia, all reachable on the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation network.

Charleston's East End and Men's Recovery Housing

The East End holds the state Capitol, a hospital campus, a walkable commercial strip and a dense grid of older housing. The Kanawha County Courthouse and the family court sit downtown a short ride west. Kanawha County carries more certified recovery residences than any other county in West Virginia, and several of them sit within a few blocks of this address.

Moving Through the Fellowship Home Recovery Homes

The organization runs two further houses on Quarrier Street, one at Level 2 and one at the lighter Level 1. A man ready for less structure moves a few blocks, the neighborhood or the peer group he built.
