Residential Treatment on Cedar City's West Side

Horizon House West sits on 1850 West, distinct from the operator's other Cedar City residence, Horizon House East, on the opposite side of town. Southwest Behavioral Health Center runs the two houses as separate, gender-specific programs, which keeps men and women in different physical buildings.

A 45-Day Structured Treatment Model

The program is built around a 45-plus day stay combining group and individual therapy, education classes, anger management, communication skills and relapse prevention, with an outpatient follow-up phase once residents complete the residential portion. That structure sets Horizon House West apart from a standard sober living house: clinical programming runs on site instead of being coordinated separately.

Part of a Five-County Nonprofit Network

Southwest Behavioral Health Center is a nonprofit community mental health provider serving Iron, Washington, Beaver, Kane and Garfield Counties from a base in St. George, and Horizon House West is one piece of a residential system that also includes women's housing with onsite childcare and supervised apartments elsewhere in the region. That scale gives residents a path to different levels of support without leaving the same provider.

Cedar City is the seat of Iron County and the largest city in southwestern Utah outside the St. George area, home to Southern Utah University and a regional hospital system. That combination of services gives Horizon House West residents access to medical care, employment and continuing education within the same city where they complete treatment.
