About this Recovery Home
Simply Grace House is a women's sober living home in Richardson, Texas, in Dallas County. It is operated by Simply Grace, a nonprofit that has run recovery housing for women across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex since 2011. The Arapaho Road address is one of five homes the organization maintains, and every resident works through the same levels-based program regardless of which house she lives in.
A Women's Sober Living Home on Arapaho Road
This sober house in Richardson serves women only, which keeps house meetings, bedroom assignments and shared space governed by one set of rules written for one population. Richardson sits inside the Telecom Corridor, the stretch of North Dallas suburbs that grew up around the technology employers headquartered there, and it borders the University of Texas at Dallas campus. That combination gives a resident entry-level work and continuing education within a short drive, both of which the program requires.
A Levels-Based Program Built on Accountability
Simply Grace structures every home around a small set of non-negotiables: a sponsor and active work on the steps, a minimum of thirty hours a week in employment, school or volunteering, and daily alcohol testing backed by random weekly drug screens. Residents move through defined levels as they demonstrate stability, which gives newer residents a visible path forward and a clear sense of when the program ends.
Clinical Support Behind the Housing
Simply Grace employs licensed clinical staff, including counselors credentialed as LCSW-S, LCDC and LMSW, who run individual counseling and weekly life skills groups alongside the housing itself. The organization also operates an intensive outpatient program, so a resident who needs clinical treatment beyond peer support can get it from the same organization that houses her.
Founded on Firsthand Experience
Anika Cooper started Simply Grace in 2011 after addiction touched her own family, and the organization has grown from a single home into a five-house network without changing that founding focus on women rebuilding their lives after substance use disorder.
Recovery Housing in Richardson and Dallas County
Richardson gives Dallas County a second employment and education hub outside downtown Dallas, and a resident here can reach either center without leaving the county. DART rail service connects Richardson directly to Dallas, which matters for a resident building a job and a routine before a car is realistic.
Simply Grace's Homes Across North Texas
Simply Grace House is one of five homes the organization runs for women in the Dallas-Fort Worth area:
- The Colmar House, in Plano.
- The Evans House, in Plano.
- The Cromwell House, in Dallas.
- The Fort Worth House, in Fort Worth.
- The Richardson House, also in Richardson.
One of the five is set up specifically for mothers with children between the ages of two and twelve, so a woman who cannot separate from her kids to enter treatment still has a path into the program.
