A Men's Sober House on West 31st Street

A men-only household keeps bathrooms, meetings and shared living space governed by one set of rules for one population. The West 31st Street location sits in the North University neighborhood next to the University of Texas, putting classes, campus-area jobs and outpatient providers within a short walk of the house.

Peer Support as the Program's Core

Ascension House builds its Men's Recovery House around daily structure and peer accountability, functioning as a bridge between residential treatment and independent living. Residents handle outpatient care and counseling separately while the house provides the housing, the structure and the community.

Recovery Housing in Central Austin

North University's location inside Travis County, minutes from downtown Austin, puts this house within reach of the city's densest concentration of meetings, treatment providers and entry-level work. Capital Metro service along Guadalupe Street gives residents a way to get there without a car.

ABOUT US Ascension House provides food for all meals as well as snacks, drinks, and refreshments. Transportation is also provided for daily programming and weekend outings. Every morning we start the day with prayer and meditation. All medications are monitored and securely locked away by staff when not being dispensed. Clients are given the opportunity to earn their freedoms back (cell phones, laptops, ect) by working through our unique phasing system that directly ties into their recovery and their 12-step work with their Sponsor. All Sponsors are vetted by Ascension House staff as we introduce our clients to the local recovery community.
