About this Recovery House
Recovery Trail 1112 is a men's sober house on Ernest McMahan Lane in Sevierville, Tennessee, the seat of Sevier County. It is the first of three houses the nonprofit Recovery Trail runs on that lane, and it is operated by a certified operator listed with the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences for Sevier County men's recovery housing.
A Men's Sober House on Ernest McMahan Lane
This is single gender housing for men, and the restriction settles the everyday questions: one set of house rules, one population in the common rooms, and housemates working the same program. Three Recovery Trail houses stand on the same short lane, so a resident of 1112 lives inside a cluster of roughly two dozen men in structured recovery. That density is the operator's design. Seniors in the program mentor the men who arrive after them, and the mentoring happens across addresses instead of only inside one.
The 12 Step Requirement in This Recovery Home
Attendance at a minimum of four outside 12 Step meetings each week is a condition of living here. Random drug testing runs alongside it, with zero tolerance for any mind altering substance. Recovery Trail is explicit that it is not affiliated with any religious denomination while building the program on spiritual principles, and it names honesty, integrity, willingness, humility, self discipline and service as the fellowship it expects residents to practice. A man who wants to keep his head down and pay rent is a poor fit. A man who wants scaffolding for the first year is the intended resident.
Cost of This Sevierville Sober Living Home
The admission fee is $375, and it covers the first week of program fees. Weekly program fees after that are $175. Recovery Trail publishes its program guidelines as a downloadable document, so an applicant can read the expectations before committing. The organization is partially funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee, which is part of why the weekly figure sits where it does.
Certification for Sevier County Recovery Housing
Tennessee requires recovery residences to be certified, and the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences is the affiliate that certifies them. Its Sevier County listing records this operator as certified for men's housing. Certification means a published code of ethics, fees and rules given in writing before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint route outside the house. Recovery Trail also holds 501(c)(3) status, granted in May 2018 after the organization was formed the previous October.
Recovery Housing in Sevier County and the Smokies
Sevierville is the county seat and sits at the north end of the corridor that runs through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The county's economy is built on that corridor, and the hospitality, retail and construction employers along it hire year round. LeConte Medical Center serves the county from Sevierville, the courthouse is downtown, and the French Broad River meets the Little Pigeon just north of town. Recovery Trail runs its own outdoor program in the same mountains, taking residents on hiking excursions to draw the parallel between a hard climb and a hard year.
Who This Sevierville Sober House Fits
The program suits a man leaving detox, residential treatment or the Sevier County jail who wants accountability and has no safe address to return to. The founder carried 12 Step meetings into that jail every Wednesday night for eight years before starting the organization, and the referral pattern shows it. Case management, employment assistance, weekly life skills instruction covering interviewing and budgeting, and guidance toward a GED or community college are all part of what a resident gets.
