A Recovery Home Built for Fathers

The house focuses on a population most sober housing does not target directly: men working to regain or maintain a relationship with their children while rebuilding their own lives after incarceration or homelessness.

Parenting Education Alongside Recovery Support

Residents get help navigating the child support system and exercising visitation rights, paired with the recovery information and life skills coaching that any sober living program provides, treating fatherhood as part of the recovery work, not separate from it.

Founded by a Drug Court Graduate

Founder Thomas Gooch is himself a graduate of Davidson County Drug Court with two decades of recovery and fifteen years of experience in drug treatment and harm reduction, and co-founder Ron W. Sisney Sr. brings his own recovery and public transportation background to the program.

Admission and Funding

The program accepts SSI, disability income and RHP funding, and admission requires willingness to change, attendance at self-care meetings such as NA or AA, and the ability to work toward gainful employment. It is not a faith-based program.

TN-ARR and State Recognition

My Father's House Nashville is certified through the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences and approved by the Tennessee Department of Correction, giving fathers coming out of institutions a documented recovery housing option in Davidson County.
