A Year-Long Recovery Housing Program for Women

Healing Housing builds its program around a full year of housing, well beyond a standard 90-day stay, with an individualized plan for each woman covering trauma, physical and mental health, and practical skills training. The first twelve weeks are covered entirely by donor funding, so a woman with no income yet does not have to find rent money in the hardest early stretch of recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Alongside Housing

The organization offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment directly, which means clinical care and housing come from the same source, so a resident is not left to coordinate between a landlord and a separate treatment provider. After the free period, fees move to a sliding scale, and a resident who completes the program can recover as much as sixty percent of what she paid.

Serving Women With Limited Financial Resources

Healing Housing specifically targets women transitioning out of drug and alcohol treatment who do not have the money to cover a typical sober living deposit and weekly fee, and the program keeps a separate application track for women still incarcerated who are planning ahead for release. That focus on financial access sets it apart from operators that require move-in cash up front.

What Tennessee Requires of Recovery Housing

Tennessee requires recovery residences to be certified, and two bodies certify homes in the state: the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences and Recovery is the New High. Certification obliges a written code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules before move-in, and a written relapse and discharge policy.
