Easy Does It Coed Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Easy Does It is a coed sober living home in Leesport, Pennsylvania, in Berks County. It holds a full recovery house license from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs and was the first DDAP-licensed recovery house in Berks County when it opened under that license in 2022.

Recovery Housing on Hilltop Road

Easy Does It sits on Hilltop Road outside Leesport, along the Route 61 corridor between Reading and the Schuylkill River. The organization, known locally as EDI, describes its housing as permanent supportive housing built around daily structure and personal accountability rather than a short-term program with a fixed end date.

Certification Through Pennsylvania's NARR Affiliate

Easy Does It is certified through the Pennsylvania Alliance of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification commits the residence to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of rules and fees before move-in, and outside review of complaints, on top of the inspection that comes with its state license.

Individual Recovery Plans and Peer Support

Residents work from individual recovery plans developed with certified recovery support specialists, alongside daily peer support groups and life skills training. EDI also runs community recovery events open to residents and the wider area, including an annual Soberstock gathering and regular recovery-focused breakfasts, which keep the house connected to a recovery community beyond its own residents.

A DDAP-Licensed Recovery House in Berks County

Being the first house of its kind licensed in Berks County under Pennsylvania's Act 59 framework gave EDI an early role in the county's recovery housing network, and the organization has since drawn opioid settlement grant funding to expand its recovery support work. The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs lists the house's license as current and in full standing.

Leesport and Berks County Recovery Resources

Leesport sits along the Schuylkill River a few miles north of Reading, the Berks County seat, which keeps the house within easy reach of the county's larger treatment and employment base while staying in a quieter, more residential setting. Residents commuting into Reading for outpatient care or work have a short drive rather than a move to a different community.
