The house takes its name from Rainey, a young woman who died of an overdose at twenty. Rainey's Lighthouse was built to carry on her legacy of kindness by giving other women a safe, substance-free place to keep working toward recovery, and that origin shapes the tone of the house more than a generic program name would.

A Recovery Residence Open to Every Path

The house explicitly welcomes residents following different routes to sobriety, including medication-assisted treatment, AA, NA and SMART Recovery, and states an inclusive stance toward LGBTQ+ residents. Rainey's Lighthouse is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs under Act 59 of 2017, a voluntary standard the house has chosen to meet.
