A Brotherhood-Focused Men's Sober House

Holistic House describes itself as a brotherhood-driven recovery home, and the men's program on North Shippen Street runs a structured, three-stage path: an initial thirty-day foundation phase, a stability phase of thirty to sixty days with more independence, and an ongoing phase past sixty days built around accountability and independence. Randomized drug testing and a work requirement run through all three stages.

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs licenses Holistic House as a recovery house under Act 59 of 2017. Licensure is voluntary in the state, and the operator carries the same license across all three of its Lancaster houses.

Daily Structure at Holistic House

The program includes weekly house meetings and a habit-tracking system it calls Growth Addicts Anonymous, alongside in-house gym access and an expectation that residents secure work as they move through the stages. Rooms house up to two residents, with a single-room option for those who want one.

Holistic House runs two additional houses in Lancaster: Holistic House II on West Strawberry Street, also for men, and Holistic House III on East End Avenue, for women. All three share the same program structure and DDAP license.

Fees and Applying to Holistic House

Holistic House publishes its own pricing: a one-time onboarding fee of $225, weekly double-occupancy rooms at $190, and single rooms at $225 a week, with utilities, internet, furnishings and laundry included. Applicants apply directly through the operator's own site.
