Harrisburg RASE House Coed Recovery House

5525 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17109

About this Recovery House

The Harrisburg RASE House is a coed recovery residence in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in Dauphin County, operated by the RASE Project, one of the state's longest-running recovery community organizations. The house sits on Locust Lane on the city's east side.

A Coed Recovery Residence on Locust Lane

The Harrisburg RASE House serves men and women through a peer-based recovery housing model, with residents accountable to house rules and to each other rather than to clinical staff on site. Locust Lane runs through a residential stretch of Harrisburg within reach of the city's bus network, connecting residents to downtown Harrisburg without requiring a car.

The RASE Project's Recovery Community Model

RASE stands as one of Pennsylvania's established recovery community organizations, training certified recovery specialists and running peer support services alongside its housing. The Harrisburg RASE House functions as one piece of a larger continuum the organization runs statewide, connecting residents to case management and peer support that most standalone sober houses cannot offer directly.

What Pennsylvania Certification Covers Here

Pennsylvania does not maintain a public roster of certified recovery residences, since the state's alliance of recovery residences publishes no address-level directory and the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs' license under Act 59 is voluntary. Certification in Pennsylvania would commit an operator to a published code of ethics and disclosed rules, on top of whatever licensing it already carries.

Recovery Housing in Harrisburg and Dauphin County

Harrisburg is both the state capital and the seat of Dauphin County, which puts state agencies, the county courthouse and a concentration of outpatient providers within a short reach of the RASE House. Residents leaving treatment elsewhere in central Pennsylvania often land in Harrisburg first, since it is the regional hub for court obligations, case management appointments and entry-level employment alike.
