About this Recovery House

Pure Life Recovery - Bensalem is a men's sober living home on Bristol Pike in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, in Bucks County. It is one of two houses run by Pure Life Recovery, a Bucks County sober living operator founded by James and Sarah Crowley.

A Men's Sober House on Bristol Pike

This house in the Andalusia section of Bensalem houses up to five men in recovery, with central air, on-site laundry and parking out front. A weekly fee of about $225 covers a shared room in a residential setting, and Bristol Pike puts residents along the commercial corridor that runs the length of lower Bucks County.

DDAP-Licensed Sober Living Across the Operator's Houses

Pure Life Recovery states that all of its sober living homes are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. That licensure is voluntary in Pennsylvania, so carrying it across every house reflects a standard the operator has set for itself rather than a legal minimum.

What Pennsylvania Recovery Housing Certification Establishes

Separate from DDAP licensure, Pennsylvania recovery residences can also seek certification through the Pennsylvania Alliance of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification adds a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules, a relapse and discharge policy on file, and an outside complaint process. This guide to certifying a Pennsylvania recovery residence covers what that takes.

Pure Life Recovery's Second House in Bristol Borough

Pure Life Recovery also runs a women's sober living home in Bristol Borough, a separate Bucks County community northeast of Bensalem along the same Route 13 corridor. A man who needs a different setting later has a sister house to talk to, and a family with both a son and a daughter in early recovery has one company to call instead of two.

Recovery Housing in Bensalem and Bucks County

Bensalem is the largest municipality in lower Bucks County and sits directly on Philadelphia's northeastern edge, giving residents access to a suburban county's services alongside a major city's job market and treatment providers without leaving the corridor.

Group: Residents are required to attend our weekly house meeting where we will discuss successes, failures, and how to learn and grow from those experiences as well as each other. These meetings will be a powerful tool in showing and feeling love, support, and empowerment for all residents. Vocational Guidance & Life Skills: Residents who are not working will be given 3 weeks from the date of admission to obtain employment. We encourage residents to find healthy, gainful employment in order to contribute to their recovery. Residents are assigned house jobs during house meetings each week to encourage life skills as well as a feeling of contribution within the home. Family Reintegration: We encourage you to spend time rebuilding healthy relationships with family. Children are permitted for visits on weekends. 24/7 Staff Guidance and Supervision: We are very understanding of the recovery process and the challenges our residences will face. Our house manager and owner are always available to provide understanding, guidance, and support. Access: Cell Phones and Laptops are allowed at Rise up recovery.
