4D Recovery's Portland housing includes men's and women's residences and beds set aside for young adults between eighteen and twenty-five, alongside a forty-unit complex. 4D Recovery is a recovery community organization, and the housing sits inside a larger set of services. The Portland site runs a free drop-in recovery center where young people can connect, build community and explore recovery with peer support and recovery coaching, and it offers outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment with same-day assessments. A resident therefore has a place to be during the day, a coach who is not a landlord, and a clinical option in the same building, which is a different arrangement from a sober house that hands someone a key and a list of rules.
