About this Recovery Home

Serenity House is a women's recovery residence in Portland, Oregon, in Multnomah County. It sits in the Pleasant Valley area of southeast Portland, holds up to fifteen women, and is operated by an MHACBO-accredited provider, Premiere Sober Living.

A Fifteen-Bed Women's Recovery Residence

Fifteen women is a large household by Oregon standards, and size changes the experience in ways worth thinking through. A bigger house means more people at different stages of recovery under one roof, which gives a newcomer several examples of what six months and a year look like. It also means more housemates to navigate, more noise, and a greater dependence on rules being enforced consistently. The operator supplies live-in staff supervision, an enforced curfew and random testing, which is the structure a house of this size requires to work.

A House Designed for the Way Residents Live

The residence was laid out by an interior designer with a house of this kind in mind. There are two living rooms and a large kitchen and living space, which sounds like decoration and functions as capacity: fifteen women need somewhere to be that is not a bedroom, and a single common room in a full house forces people out the door at exactly the hours when leaving is least helpful. Beds are memory foam twin XL, and bedding, cookware, WiFi and all utilities are included.

Day Treatment Alongside This Southeast Portland Sober House

The house partners with Hope Center Recovery to offer day treatment services to residents who want additional support. That arrangement lets a woman living here add a structured clinical day without changing address or provider, which is useful in the first months when the right level of care is still being worked out. It stays optional, so residents who already have their own outpatient program keep it.

Pleasant Valley and the Outer Southeast

Pleasant Valley sits at the eastern edge of Portland where the city meets the hills below Powell Butte, a quieter, greener part of the southeast quadrant. Foster Road, Powell Boulevard and 122nd and 162nd Avenues carry frequent bus service into the rest of the city and out toward Gresham, and Powell Butte Nature Park is immediately at hand. It is far enough from inner Portland to be genuinely out of an old routine and close enough that outpatient appointments, court dates at the Multnomah County Courthouse and jobs along 82nd Avenue stay reachable.

Accreditation and What It Guarantees

Oregon does not license recovery residences, and accreditation from the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon is voluntary and granted to the provider organization. This home is operated by an accredited provider. Accreditation commits the company to a code of ethics, to written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, to a written relapse and discharge policy, and to a complaint route above the house. In a house of fifteen, the discharge policy is the one to read closely.

Applying to This Women's Sober Living Home

Ask how bedrooms are assigned in a house this size and whether any are private, who is on site overnight, what the fee covers and what the deposit is, how the day treatment partnership works and what it costs, whether prescribed medication for opioid use disorder is accepted, and how conflicts between residents are resolved. The last question matters more in a fifteen-bed house than in a six-bed one.
