About this Sober House
Rob's Ranch is a men's recovery residence in Purcell, Oklahoma, the seat of McClain County. Men live on a seventy-two acre property a mile southwest of Interstate 35, working a twelve-step program with a licensed clinical staff on site.
A Men's Recovery Residence on a Seventy-Two Acre Ranch
The setting is the first thing to understand about this house. Seventy-two acres of ranch land is not a bedroom in a neighborhood, and the distance is deliberate. A man arriving here is separated from the streets, the phone numbers and the routines attached to his using, and the property supplies everything he needs for the length of the stay. Bedrooms, groups, meals and counseling sessions all sit inside the same fence line. That suits someone who needs the break to be complete and it suits someone whose home city has stopped being survivable.
Twelve-Step Treatment and Sober Living in One Place
The program is built on the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, and the curriculum is centered on establishing a spiritual foundation as the basis for the rest of the work. It is post-acute, meaning it picks up after detox, not during it, and it combines clinical treatment with residential living instead of splitting them across two organizations. Licensed alcohol and drug counselors, a licensed professional counselor with EMDR training and a therapist certified in equine therapy all work with the men living here. A house supervisor is on the staff roster. For a resident, that means the person running the house and the person running his therapy are answerable to the same director.
Purcell, McClain County and the Interstate 35 Corridor
Purcell is the McClain County seat, sitting on the Canadian River where the interstate crosses into the southern edge of the Oklahoma City metro. The location works for families: Oklahoma City is a short drive north, Norman is closer still, and the exit off Interstate 35 makes a visit a day trip from most of the state instead of an expedition. It also works for a resident planning the next step, because the metro's jobs, outpatient providers and twelve-step meeting rooms are within reach of a county that is otherwise rural.
Family Counseling Alongside the Men's Recovery Program
Family counseling is part of the program here, on the stated understanding that addiction is a family illness affecting nearly everyone around the person who has it. That is a real differentiator among Oklahoma recovery homes, most of which treat the family as a visitor. Bringing parents, partners and adult children into structured sessions changes what a man goes home to, and it gives the people who have been managing his crises a place to put what they are carrying. Oklahoma's Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services maintains statewide treatment and recovery resources for families comparing programs.
Who This Oklahoma Recovery Home Is For
This residence suits a man who has finished detox, wants a Christian twelve-step framework, and needs distance from his own city to get traction. It suits someone whose family is willing to be part of the work. It is a poor match for anyone who needs to keep a local job while they get sober, or who wants a secular program, or who is looking for the kind of loose sober housing where a bed and a drug test are the whole arrangement. The questions worth asking before admission are what the stay costs and what funding applies, how long it runs, which counselor a resident is assigned, whether medication for opioid use disorder is permitted, and where a graduate lives next.
90 Day Program for Recovery
Rob's Ranch is a 90-day inpatient treatment facility located in Purcell, OK. The facility sits on over 70 acres of land with a pond, walking path, basketball court, pool, and plenty of open area for many more outdoor activities. There is also a large game room that features an arcade system, ping pong table, and a 70†flat screen TV for sports or movies. The treatment program focuses on a Christ-centered philosophy while also using the 12-step model of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, etc. Our clients are immersed in a time-tested treatment model, solely operated by other men in recovery, who truly understand what it is like to be at rock bottom and reach out for help.
We have five licensed therapists and 14 support staff ready to meet the needs of our client group.
spiritual growth
The Rob's Ranch program features over 24 hours of spiritual growth and therapy each week. The hours consist of large therapy groups, small therapy groups, individual counseling sessions, family counseling sessions, spiritual growth introductions and reunions, and combined with connections to an impressive recovery community through outside groups.
family
We also believe that family participation is key to each man's recovery, so every eight weeks our therapists conduct a Family Education Day that focuses on what the family's role is in the addict's recovery. We focus on the long-term recovery of our clients by suggesting/referring to sober living communities, along with free access to our therapists through our aftercare program.
Rob's Ranch's goal is to provide the best possible treatment, at an affordable rate, and give men the most effective care available.
