About this Sober House

Hope is Alive Recovery Home W is a women's sober living home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in Oklahoma County, certified at Level 2 by the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources. Eleven women live here, on the northwest side of the city.

A Women's Sober House in Northwest Oklahoma City

Eleven beds, all of them for women, in the Putnam City part of northwest Oklahoma City. The neighborhood is residential and settled, and the Northwest Expressway corridor a short distance away carries a large share of the metro's retail, restaurant and clinic employment, which is what a woman needs within reach in her first three months. Hope is Alive identifies its houses by code, and W is the identifier the ministry and the Oklahoma registry both use for this residence.

Separate Men's and Women's Recovery Homes

Hope is Alive keeps men's and women's houses as entirely separate households, and that decision settles a great deal for a prospective resident. Bathrooms, bedrooms, house meetings and shared living space are single-gender. One set of expectations covers everyone in the building. A woman in early recovery, particularly one leaving a violent relationship or a household where her using was tied to a partner, is not negotiating any of that alongside the program. The ministry runs two women's houses in Oklahoma City and two more in the Tulsa metro.

OKARR Level 2 Certification for Women's Sober Living in Oklahoma

Certification comes from the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources, the state's only recognized certifier of recovery residences and its affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. A certified house publishes a code of ethics, discloses fees and rules in writing before move-in, keeps a documented relapse and discharge policy and accepts complaint review from outside. Level 2 means peer-managed housing with a manager on site and structured daily expectations, with clinical care coming from providers elsewhere. Certification is voluntary in Oklahoma, so a certified women's house has chosen to be answerable.

Children, Family and Long-Term Recovery Housing

Across its network the ministry counts 2,460 children reunited with sober parents, and that figure says something specific about the length of the program. A stay of a year to eighteen months is long enough for a custody case to move, for a parenting plan to be written and for a mother to establish the work history and the address a court wants to see. Family outings, retreats and alumni events keep relatives connected through the process instead of waiting at the far end of it. For a woman whose children are the reason she is doing this, the timeline is the point.

Northwest Oklahoma City and Oklahoma County Recovery Homes

Oklahoma City is the state capital and the seat of Oklahoma County, and it carries roughly twenty-five certified recovery residences. From the northwest side, the John Kilpatrick Turnpike and Interstate 44 reach the rest of the metro quickly, and Warr Acres and Bethany sit immediately adjacent. Certified women's recovery housing is scarcer than men's across Oklahoma, so an eleven-bed certified women's house on this side of the county is a real option in a short list. Applications and placement run through Hope is Alive directly.
