About this Sober House
Hope is Alive Recovery Home T2 is a men's sober living home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in Tulsa County, one of two men's houses the ministry runs in the city. Eleven men live here, and the house carries Level 2 certification from the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources.
A Second Men's Sober House in Broken Arrow
T2 sits in the same city as its sister house, T1, and the two together account for all of Hope is Alive's men's housing in Broken Arrow. The ministry treats T1 and T2 as one program running across two addresses, so a man's placement usually comes down to which house has an open bed on a given day.
Room Assignments and Daily Life in This Sober Living Home
Most bedrooms in the house are shared between two men, and each resident receives a bed with new bedding, a dresser, a nightstand and a lamp on move-in, along with roughly four feet of closet space and a marked share of the kitchen. A sobriety coach lives alongside the men who call this house home and keeps the daily schedule running.
OKARR Level 2 Certification and the Record It Creates for This Recovery Home
Certification through the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources, Oklahoma's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, is voluntary in this state, so a Level 2 listing means the operator asked for outside review it did not have to accept. That review covers a published code of ethics, written fees and house rules handed over before move-in, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint channel that runs outside the house itself.
Employment, School and the First Three Weeks at This Sober House
The ministry expects full-time work, school enrollment or steady volunteering within three weeks of a man moving in, thirty twelve-step meetings in the first thirty days, and a sponsor inside six months. A Monday night Bible study holds for the first six months, a Wednesday curriculum session runs weekly, and a Sunday speaker meeting is required for the length of the stay. Testing is sixteen-panel, at move-in and at random after.
Broken Arrow's Growth and Its Place in Tulsa Metro Recovery Housing
Broken Arrow has grown into one of Oklahoma's largest cities in its own right, no longer just a bedroom community for Tulsa, with its own retail corridors, schools and the Rose District downtown core. That growth means a resident here has local jobs to reach without a daily commute into Tulsa proper, though the Broken Arrow Expressway puts the larger city within about twenty minutes when a job, a meeting or a court date calls for it.
One Application Across Two Broken Arrow Recovery Homes
Applications for T2 go directly to Hope is Alive, the ministry's standard for all fourteen of its Oklahoma residences. A man who needs a different set of housemates, or simply an open bed sooner, can move to T1 without leaving the program he already started.
