A Women's Sober House on Warsaw Avenue

This sober house in Cincinnati's East Price Hill neighborhood grew out of the work of Angie Edwards, who spent more than a decade supporting women battling addiction before the organization partnered with Serenity Recovery Network in 2009 to formalize the program. A renovated building on Warsaw Avenue now houses up to 16 women, a scale reached only after Edwards's original vision was carried forward by the network she helped build.

What Supervised Certification Establishes

Angie's House holds Supervised-level certification through Ohio Recovery Housing, the state's NARR affiliate, and it is also recognized as Recovery Friendly by Hamilton County. A Supervised residence carries the most staff oversight of Ohio's three certification levels, alongside the disclosures every certified house makes: a published code of ethics, written fees and rules before move-in, and a complaint process outside the house.

One of Two Serenity Recovery Network Homes

Angie's House is the women's residence run by Serenity Recovery Network, which also operates Serenity House, a men's recovery home elsewhere in Cincinnati. Keeping both under one network means shared administration and a consistent standard of care across the men's and women's sides of the program.

Recovery Housing in Hamilton County

East Price Hill sits close to downtown Cincinnati, and Hamilton County's concentration of outpatient providers, courts and employers gives residents of a Warsaw Avenue sober house a direct line to services without leaving the city.
