Abi's Place is a certified women's sober living home in Rochester, New Hampshire, in Strafford County. Founded in August 2019, it is an eight-room transitional house for mothers and their children, operated by Hope on Haven Hill, which also runs the residential program most residents complete before moving here.

A Transitional Sober House on Charles Street

Abi's Place serves women who have completed Hope on Haven Hill's residential program and are working toward independent living while still parenting. What NHPRR Certification Establishes

Abi's Place is certified through the New Hampshire Partnership for Recovery Residences, the sole agency New Hampshire designates under RSA 172-B:2 VII to certify recovery residences. Certification commits the house to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, and an outside complaint process, and it is what allows agencies receiving state or federal funds to refer residents here.

Support for Employment and Child Care

The house's transitional model centers on the practical pieces of independent living: finding and keeping a job, arranging child care, and staying connected to recovery support after the more intensive structure of a residential program. That combination addresses the specific gap mothers face when treatment ends but full independence has not yet arrived.

Abi's Place works alongside Hope on Haven Hill's residential program on Rochester Hill Road, an eight-bed house where most residents here started their recovery. Moving between the two keeps mothers and children with the same organization throughout treatment and the transition that follows it.
