Schirmer House is a women's sober living home on Gravois Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, run by Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry for women transitioning out of incarceration.

The Operator's Largest Transitional House

Schirmer House opened in 2008 as apartment-style transitional housing and holds up to 32 women, making it the largest of Keyway Center's three residences. Residents pay a $400 monthly fee once employed and must be currently justice-involved or within six months of release.

Structured Support Alongside Housing

Schirmer House residents work with case managers on vocational training, behavioral health resources and transportation, and the operator's housing navigator helps residents move into independent housing once they are ready.

Recovery Housing in St. Louis

St. Louis is an independent city and its own county, and Schirmer House sits inside a network of courts, employers and outpatient providers that a large reentry population draws on daily.

Missouri Sober Living Certification

Missouri's certification for recovery residences, through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, is voluntary, and reentry-specific housing serving justice-involved women commonly operates outside that system.

Schirmer House shares an operator with Baker House, a similar transitional residence, and Sharon House, the operator's permanent supportive housing option.
