The household is women only, and the day has a shape. Work or school fills the hours. Meals are eaten together. House meetings happen weekly and attendance is not optional. New Beginning Sanctuary keeps leadership in its homes around the clock, so a resident who hits a hard night has somebody awake to talk to.

Medication and Recovery Housing Policy

Medication-assisted treatment is accepted here. A woman prescribed buprenorphine or methadone can keep her medication and her housing at the same address, which is not something every Missouri sober house allows. Losing a bed over a prescription usually costs a resident the prescriber as well, and this program removes that risk from the decision.

Peer Specialists Inside This Sober House

The organization employs Certified Peer Specialists and puts mentorship at the center of the model. Residents further along help newcomers through intake, the first paycheck and the first setback. That transfer of experience is most of what a social-model recovery residence actually delivers, and it works better when the staff have lived it.
