About this Recovery House
House of Esther is a women's sober living home on Ruth Street in Sikeston, Missouri, in Scott County, certified by the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers.
A Women's Sober House on Ruth Street
House of Esther runs as a transitional residence for women with substance use disorders under Mission Missouri, a faith-based nonprofit. The program, known internally as Sisters Rising, is built to last up to eight months and can extend to a full year, which gives residents room to stabilize employment and housing before moving on.
What MCRSP Certification Establishes
Certification through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, commits Mission Missouri to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, and an outside complaint process. Missouri does not require this of recovery housing, so the certification reflects the operator's own standard.
Program Fees and Structure
Residents cover room and board at $660 a month plus a $260 food plan, often paid through food stamps, and Mission Missouri does not begin charging housing and programming fees until a resident's third month, once employment is expected to be in place. The Sisters Rising program combines peer coaching, individual and group counseling, life skills training, and faith-based mentoring built around the Life Recovery Bible, alongside daily chores and mandatory church attendance.
Staff Credentials at House of Esther
Mission Missouri's staff hold a range of counseling and recovery-support credentials, including CCJP, MRSS, MARS, CRPR-L, MAADC II and CPS designations, which places clinical and peer-recovery expertise directly on site.
Recovery Housing in Scott County
Sikeston is the largest city in Scott County, whose seat is Benton, and it sits at a crossroads in southeast Missouri where residents can reach employers, courts and health providers across the county without a long drive. That location makes House of Esther a practical option for women drawing from a wide stretch of the Bootheel region.
