Robie Street E sits on Saint Paul's West Side, a neighborhood on a bluff above the Mississippi River with its own commercial strip and long-standing residential blocks. Jake's Place serves men only, and its certification through the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes means the house has agreed in writing to a set of rules a resident can check before moving in.

What MASH Certification Confirms

Certification through the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes is voluntary, so a certified house has chosen to publish a code of ethics, disclose its fees and rules before move-in, and accept an outside complaint process. It says nothing about which specific house suits which resident, but it establishes a paper trail a family can verify.

One of Four Anthony House Sober Homes

Jake's Place is one of four men's residences run by The Anthony House, alongside the Anthony House itself in Maplewood, Michael's Place elsewhere in Saint Paul, and Colin's Place in White Bear Lake. The operator also supports Firefighters With PTSD, extending its recovery work beyond its own residents.

Living on Saint Paul's West Side

The West Side sits close to downtown Saint Paul across the Mississippi River, and Metro Transit's bus routes connect the neighborhood to the rest of Ramsey County, the seat of which is Saint Paul itself. That proximity puts outpatient providers, court dates and county human services within a short trip for residents of Jake's Place.

What is unique about Jake's Place is that our residents are given personal freedom and comfort in order to rehabilitate their lives on the journey to recovery. Because we want to help you succeed, no specific recovery time frame or exit date is enforced. We understand that all individuals are different, so the added pressure of a time limit for recovery is not something that we want to place on our residents. For added support, Jake's Place has an on-site manager available throughout our resident's stay.
