Brendan's House Men's Sober House

About this Sober House

Brendan's House is a men's sober living home in Worcester, Massachusetts, the seat of Worcester County. It is certified through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing at a capacity of twenty-one residents.

A Men's Sober House in Worcester

This sober house serves men in recovery in a household of twenty-one, one of the larger certified residences in the region. Worcester's size means residents have a full range of outpatient providers, courts and transit within the city itself.

What MASH Certification Establishes

Certification through MASH, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, requires a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules before move-in, and an outside complaint process. It places the house at NARR Level II, with a manager on site while residents pursue treatment through outside providers.

Worcester's Place as a Central Massachusetts Hub

As the seat of Worcester County and the second-largest city in New England, Worcester concentrates hospitals, colleges and outpatient behavioral health services that smaller surrounding towns rely on, giving residents here a deep bench of nearby resources.

Applying to Brendan's House

Applications go directly to the operator. Worth asking: how a household of this size is staffed, what the weekly fee covers, and how house rules are enforced day to day.
