A Men's Sober House in Lynn

This sober house in Lynn serves men in recovery, and that single restriction keeps house rules, meetings and common space consistent for everyone living there. Lynn is a working coastal city on Boston's North Shore, with a compact downtown built around its historic shoe-manufacturing industry.

Getting Around From a Lynn Sober House

MBTA commuter rail and bus service connect Lynn directly to Boston, which matters for a resident who needs to reach a job, an outpatient appointment or a meeting without owning a car. That access is one of the practical advantages of recovery housing sited this close to a major transit corridor.

Recovery Housing in Essex County

Essex County runs along the North Shore from Lynn up through Salem, Beverly and the Merrimack Valley cities to the north. Lynn sits closest to Boston among the county's cities, giving residents of a Lynn sober house quicker access to Boston's outpatient providers and recovery meetings than towns farther up the coast.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Lynn Sober House

Applications go directly to Essex House. Worth asking: whether a bed is currently open, what the weekly fee covers, whether a house manager lives on site, and how the house handles a relapse or an early departure. A recovery residence should have written answers to all four before anyone signs on.
