About this Sober House

Bridge House is a men's sober living home on Sandwich Road in Bourne, Massachusetts, in Barnstable County, operated by Commitment Living.

A Men's Sober House on Sandwich Road

This sober house in Bourne houses men in recovery under one set of house rules and shared common space. Sandwich Road is one of the town's older residential corridors, away from the summer traffic that backs up around the Bourne and Sagamore bridges, which keeps it a workable year-round address.

Bourne's Position on Cape Cod

Bourne sits at the mainland end of the Cape Cod Canal and is often called the gateway to Cape Cod, since both bridges onto the peninsula, the Bourne and the Sagamore, land in the town. Bourne has its own services, and Falmouth, Sandwich and the rest of upper Cape Cod's outpatient providers and meetings are all a short drive away.

What Massachusetts Certification Establishes

This house operates outside the state's certified network. Certification through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing, where a residence carries it, commits it to a published code of ethics, written fee and rule disclosure, and an outside complaint process, and it is the only route by which courts and state agencies can refer someone directly to a house.

Applying Through Commitment Living

Commitment Living handles admissions for the Sandwich Road house directly. Before moving in, the standard questions apply: what the weekly fee covers, whether a house manager lives on site, how the house handles a relapse, and what the expectations are for work or treatment during the day.

Commitment Living is located on Cape Cod.  They provide a clean, safe and secure environment. The goal they have set is to provide the best possible housing for men and women beginning their sober transition back into the community. They begin with structure, understanding and guidance. Commitment living sets high expectations for their residents that they must consistently meet in order to be successful in their housing. Commitment Living is not a typical sober house. In addition to offering housing to both men and women, they want to be active and positive in their communities. They work closely with the Falmouth Police Youth Organization, area rehabilitation facilities and support local charities.  By partnering with area rehabilitation facilities, they work together to endure the continuum of care and share the tools we need for success.
