This sober house in Terre Haute serves adult men working a twelve-step program of recovery. A live-in house manager oversees the property, and residents agree to random drug and alcohol screening as a condition of staying. Applicants need five days free of any unprescribed mind or mood altering substance before admission, along with daily attendance at recovery meetings and an ability to keep up with the weekly service fee once they move in.

Structure Built Around Reentry

Gibault Care built the Odyssey House program around getting men back into steady routines outside clinical treatment. Life skills training, employment assistance and help finishing education sit alongside the housing, and residents are expected to get involved in the surrounding community instead of staying isolated inside the house. Every resident works from his own individual recovery plan.

Odyssey House is operated by a certified operator through the Indiana Affiliation of Recovery Residences, and Gibault Care also serves as a Recovery Works provider, the state program that funds treatment and housing support for Hoosiers with substance use disorders. Recovery Works referrals give residents at this address a funding path that a private-pay-only sober house cannot offer.
