About this Recovery Home
Phoenix Recovery, in Chicago, Illinois, is a sober house for men in Cook County, operated by Phoenix Recovery Support Services on North Central Avenue.
Sober Living for Men in Austin
Residents at Phoenix Recovery are male, age 18 or older. The house stands on North Central Avenue in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, on the West Side of Cook County. Austin is the city's westernmost community area, running up to the Oak Park boundary, and it is among the largest in Chicago by population.
A Bridge From Treatment to Independent Living
Phoenix Recovery Support Services describes recovery homes as something many people use as a bridge from substance use treatment to living independently without using drugs or alcohol. That framing sets the expectation for a stay here: the house follows treatment and precedes an independent address. A man weighing this listing is weighing a stage rather than a destination, which makes the next address the thing to ask about at intake.
Six Areas of Support
The program is organized into six named areas: social activities, housing placement, recovery education, network development, life skills and employment assistance. Housing placement and employment assistance speak directly to what comes next for a resident, which is a permanent address and an income. Network development is the quieter item on that list, and it names the thing that usually decides whether the other five hold once a man has moved on.
Results Phoenix Recovery Publishes
For fiscal year 2025 the organization reports 2,325 referrals provided, 171 men and women served, and a 69 percent overall completion rate. Published figures give a family something concrete to weigh against other Cook County recovery housing. A completion rate states the share of participants who finished the program, so an operator publishing one has committed to a number rather than to a description.
Sober Living on Chicago's West Side
For men searching for sober living in Chicago, Illinois, or a sober house on the West Side, Phoenix Recovery combines a defined resident population, a named operator and published outcomes at one Austin address. Chicago is the seat of Cook County, and the West Side lies between the Loop and the county's inner western suburbs, with the CTA Green Line running along Lake Street through Austin.
