About this Recovery Home
Serenity House Women's Recovery Home in Addison, Illinois, is a recovery residence for women. The home stands on the organization's Addison campus in DuPage County.
Women's Sober Living In Addison
Serenity House places its women's homes in Addison, Villa Park and Naperville. This residence is the Addison one, and it serves women. Three towns for three women's houses gives an applicant a geographic choice inside a single organization: Villa Park lies immediately south of Addison in DuPage County, and Naperville sits toward the county's southwestern side, so a woman with work, family or a treatment provider anchored in one part of the county is not obliged to move to another part of it.
The Organization Behind The Home
Serenity House Counseling Services, Inc. began in 1985. The organization provides DUI services, evaluations, substance abuse treatment, residential care programs, sober living and recovery homes, and adolescent programs. For a resident that breadth has a concrete meaning: recovery housing here is one service inside a larger organization rather than a standalone rental, and the evaluation and treatment arms belong to the same body that runs the house.
Entry And The Weekly Group
Ninety days of sobriety are required before a woman moves into a Serenity House recovery home. Each week a resident joins a one-hour recovery management group run with peers and a counselor. A group that meets on a fixed weekly schedule with a counselor present is a standing point of contact, which is a different thing from support that has to be requested when something has already gone wrong.
The Addison Campus
The Serenity House campus stands at 891 South Rohlwing Road in Addison, and the women's home operates from it. The organization publishes the campus address rather than a street address for each individual house, so the campus is the address a resident, a referring counselor or a family will find in writing.
Addison In Practical Terms
Addison is a village of DuPage County in Chicago's western suburbs. A woman looking at sober living options in Addison is looking at DuPage County recovery housing inside that suburban corridor. DuPage is one of the collar counties that ring Cook County, and its seat is Wheaton, west of Addison, which is where county services for the area are administered.
Questions Worth Asking
A prospective resident can ask which of the three Serenity House women's homes has current availability, and how entry to this Addison house is arranged.
