About this Recovery House

Bridges of Hope Homerville is a certified men's sober living home in Homerville, Georgia, the seat of Clinch County in the far southeast corner of the state. It carries GARR certification at Level III Type S (Supervised) and is one of four residences run by Bridges of Hope Georgia. Its address is not published, and admission is arranged through the operator.

The Oldest House in This Recovery Housing Network

The Homerville program has been operating since 1987, which makes it the founding site of the organization and one of the longer running recovery residences in south Georgia. Nearly four decades in one county means the house has a track record local courts, hospitals and churches can speak to, and that is a different kind of assurance from a certification seal. The operator also refers to this location by the nearby community of Argyle, in the same rural stretch of Clinch County.

A Men's Recovery Residence Built Around Work

Bridges of Hope calls its houses working recovery programs. Residents take part in daily work and life skills training on rural properties, and the twelve steps supply the framework around it. The days are structured, the expectations are physical, and the model suits a man who does better with a job to do than with unfilled hours. The program does not provide medical detox and does not accept residents who need clinical care for a co-occurring condition or who have a history of violence.

What GARR Certification Requires of a Sober House

Georgia does not license recovery residences, so certification through GARR, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, is the principal public record on any Georgia house. A certified residence agrees to a code of ethics, discloses fees and rules in writing before move-in, maintains a written relapse and discharge policy, and submits to inspection and outside complaint review. The supervised Level III designation adds staff oversight and a structured program to the housing itself.

Clinch County Sober Living and the Surrounding Area

Homerville is the county seat and holds the Clinch County courthouse and Clinch Memorial Hospital. Clinch is one of the least populated counties in Georgia, bordered by the Okefenokee Swamp to the east, with Valdosta about an hour west and Waycross roughly the same distance northeast. Recovery housing at this end of the state is rare, and residents come from across several counties. The monthly fee published by the operator is $900.
