The house serves men only, with weekly drug and alcohol testing and a shared-room setup that keeps most residents paired two to a room. Bedding, laundry access and cleaning supplies are covered as part of the program, which the operator bills as a single all-inclusive weekly fee.

House of Hope and Dreams runs more than one residence in the St. Petersburg area under the same program, giving the organization room to place a resident with a different set of housemates without changing operators if the fit at 17th Street is not right.

Voluntary FARR Certification in Florida

Recovery residences in Florida certify through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the only entity the state's Department of Children and Families has approved for this credential, under a program state law makes voluntary. A certified house discloses its fees and rules in writing and accepts outside complaint review, and since the standard is optional, a prospective resident should ask House of Hope and Dreams directly about current status.

I've seen so many of the clients here grow tremendously over short periods of time. The house together as a team has established a workout area, a garden, expanded housing, and so much more coming soon.
