What a bed costs in Florida, and what help exists

Typical sober living in Florida costs around $205 a week. Oxford House works on an equal share of what the home actually costs, not a set rent, so treat that as the market rather than this address. Median gross rent statewide in Florida is $1,669 a month, for context. The agency behind it is Florida Department of Children and Families.

How the Oxford House model works

Oxford Houses are self-governing households, financially self-supporting and alcohol- and drug-free by charter. New members are accepted by the current residents, so the opening shown here is a past report rather than an offer.

Is sober living regulated in Florida?

Florida does not treat recovery residences as licensed facilities. Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) is the NARR affiliate here, and its certification is voluntary. This home is chartered by Oxford House, Inc. rather than certified by the state affiliate, so it will not normally be on the certified list. Florida publishes its certified-residence directory. The federal Fair Housing Act applies, as does Florida Fair Housing Law (Florida Statutes Section 760.23).
