Cost of recovery housing in Florida

Across Florida, sober living generally runs about $205 a week. Oxford House works on an equal share of what the home actually costs, not a set rent, so treat that as the market rather than this address. For comparison, median gross rent across Florida is $1,669 a month. Florida Department of Children and Families is the state agency that oversees this funding.

How an Oxford House is run

Oxford Houses are resident-governed homes, self-funding and abstinence-based by rule. New members are accepted by the members themselves, so an opening is not the same thing as an acceptance.

Recovery housing standards in Florida

Recovery residences are not state-licensed in Florida. The state's NARR affiliate, Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), certifies homes that choose to apply. Because Oxford Houses are chartered nationally by Oxford House, Inc. rather than certified locally, they seldom show on a state registry. You can browse the certified residences in Florida. The federal Fair Housing Act applies, as does Florida Fair Housing Law (Florida Statutes Section 760.23).
