About this Recovery House
Project SOAR Recovery Residences - NW 2nd Street is a men's recovery residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in Broward County. Northwest 2nd Street runs through the 33311 blocks west of Interstate 95, a short distance from the city's medical and courthouse corridor.
A Men's Sober House Near Fort Lauderdale's Medical Corridor
Broward Health Medical Center, the county's largest public hospital, sits east of here along Andrews Avenue, and the outpatient providers, methadone clinics and behavioral health offices that cluster near a hospital sit with it. The Broward County Courthouse is in the same part of downtown. Residents are men, and for someone leaving a hospital detox or carrying a court obligation, having both inside a two mile radius removes most of the transportation problems that end placements in the first month.
What This Sober Living Home Charges
Rates published by the operator run $200 to $250 a week or $750 to $950 a month, covering utilities, Wi-Fi, television, laundry and linens. Rooms are available private or semi-private. The number a resident pays depends mostly on which of those he takes, and both are worth pricing at admission, since the gap between a shared room and a private one is often the difference between affording the house on a first job and not.
Men's Recovery Homes in the Northwest Fort Lauderdale Grid
Most of the operator's Fort Lauderdale houses fall inside 33311, in the residential blocks bounded roughly by Sunrise Boulevard, Broward Boulevard and the interstate. Broward County Transit serves those corridors, the downtown transit center is a short ride, and Tri-Rail reaches Palm Beach and Miami-Dade from the Fort Lauderdale station. A man living here can get to work, to a meeting and to an appointment on the same day without a car.
How Recovery Residences Get Certified in Florida
Florida's certification program for recovery residences is voluntary and administered by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification requires a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process outside the house. Nothing follows from a house not appearing on the list, and the operator can say where any address stands today.
More on The Sober House
Recovery residences are residential facilities designed for recovering alcohol and substance abusers who have completed a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program and wish to continue their sobriety in a safe and substance-free environment. Recovery residences give residents the time required to find a new job and a permanent place to live, or to take care of legal or social service issues.
