About this Recovery House
Real Recovery Kings Oaks Court is a men's sober house on Kings Oaks Court in Brandon, Florida, in Hillsborough County. Brandon is suburban, quiet and close enough to Tampa that residents can hold a job downtown without living in it.
A Suburban Men's Sober Living Home in Brandon
Kings Oaks Court is a residential cul-de-sac street off the Bloomingdale corridor, which is the practical appeal of this house. There is no nightlife at the end of the block. The property is fully furnished, with renovated living space, granite counters, big common rooms, high-speed internet, on-site laundry and parking, and staff with recovery experience on site at all hours. Random breathalyzer and drug testing runs twice weekly.
Commuting from This Hillsborough County Recovery Residence
State Road 60 runs west from Brandon into downtown Tampa and east toward Plant City, and the Selmon Expressway shortens the trip further. I-75 crosses the area north to south. The Brandon retail district around Brandon Boulevard and the Westfield mall is one of the largest employment concentrations in the county outside Tampa itself, so entry-level work is genuinely walkable or a single bus ride away for many residents.
What a Resident Pays at This Brandon Sober House
The monthly program fee covers electricity, water, high-speed internet, cable and trash, along with every drug and breathalyzer test. It is due on the first business day of each month. A one-time $150 administration fee is collected during intake, and monthly barbecues and holiday meals are included.
Florida Recovery Housing Certification and the State's Role
Under Florida law, recovery residence certification is voluntary and runs through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the sole credentialing entity approved by the Department of Children and Families. A certified residence publishes its fees and house rules in advance, keeps a written relapse and discharge policy and accepts complaint review from outside the house. Seven Real Recovery Sober Homes Across the Bay Region
Brandon is one of seven Real Recovery sober living locations, with Tampa and North Tampa closest and Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Bradenton and New Port Richey completing the network. The operator also runs a licensed treatment facility in Brandon, which keeps clinical care and housing inside one organization for residents who need both.
