About this Recovery House
Project SOAR Recovery Residences - 1235 NE 15th Avenue is a men's sober living home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in Broward County. It sits in 33304, on the northeast side of the city, one of two houses the operator keeps on the same block of Northeast 15th Avenue.
A Men's Sober House in Northeast Fort Lauderdale
Northeast 15th Avenue runs through the residential streets between Sunrise Boulevard and the Flagler Village area, a different setting from the operator's northwest Fort Lauderdale addresses. Residents are men. The 33304 side of the city puts the beach, the Las Olas corridor and the hospitality and restaurant employers along it inside a short ride, and that industry hires quickly, pays weekly and does not ask many questions about a two-year gap on a resume.
Transit and Daily Logistics From This Recovery Residence
Broward County Transit covers Sunrise Boulevard, Federal Highway and Andrews Avenue, all of which are close. The downtown transit center, the Brightline station and the county courthouse are roughly two miles south, and Tri-Rail links the county to West Palm Beach and Miami from its Fort Lauderdale station. A resident without a car can hold a job, keep an outpatient appointment and make a court date from this address, which is the practical test any sober house location has to pass.
Two Men's Recovery Homes on One Street
The operator runs a second house a few doors away at 1231 Northeast 15th Avenue. Clustered houses give an operator room to move someone who is doing well into a different household without pulling him out of his job, his meetings or his part of the city. It also means the two houses share a manager network and a set of expectations, so a transfer is a change of address instead of a change of program.
Certification for Sober Houses in Florida
Florida certifies recovery residences voluntarily through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the only credentialing entity the Department of Children and Families has approved for residences. A certified house discloses fees and rules before move-in, keeps a written relapse policy, and accepts complaint review from outside. Since the program is voluntary, current status for any given address is a question for the operator, and absence from a list carries no meaning.
More on The Sober House
Since 2010, Project SOAR Recovery Residences has provided transitional supportive housing for men in the South Florida area. Our primary goal is to provide a clean, safe, sober, and responsible environment to recovering alcohol and/or substance abusers which will, in turn, support recovery. As a state-certified recovery residence through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), and a member of the National Alliance of Recovery Residences, we are committed to only accepting those individuals who are serious about their recovery.
