About this Recovery House
Phillips House is a certified women's sober house in Aurora, Colorado, in Arapahoe County, operated by Zen Mountain Sober Living. It opened on 1 March 2018 and is the largest residence in the operator's portfolio.
A Large Women's Sober Living Home in Aurora
The house runs to more than 3,500 square feet with four bathrooms, a remodeled kitchen with granite counters, and three separate living areas. Those numbers matter more in recovery housing than they would in a rental listing. Four bathrooms in a full house is the difference between a workable weekday morning and a queue. Three living areas mean a resident who needs to be alone for an hour can be, without leaving the property, and a house meeting does not have to displace everyone else.
Certification of This Colorado Recovery Residence
Phillips House appears as a certified residence in Colorado's statewide directory, maintained by ORH-CO, the certifying body approved by the Behavioral Health Administration and the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification attaches to the individual residence. It requires written disclosure of fees and house rules before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, adherence to a published code of ethics, and an external complaint route. Under Colorado House Bill 19-1009, a residence has to hold that certification before it can accept state referrals or funding.
Medication Policy at This Women's Recovery Home
Medication-assisted treatment is supported across the operator's residences, and rent subsidy is listed as available. A woman stabilized on buprenorphine or methadone can move in without choosing between her prescriber and her housing, which is the single most common reason a placement falls through elsewhere.
Sober Living in Aurora and Arapahoe County
Aurora holds the eastern half of the Denver metropolitan area and is the third-largest city in Colorado. The Anschutz Medical Campus anchors the north side, RTD light rail runs the I-225 corridor, and bus service along Colfax Avenue crosses the city end to end. Littleton is the Arapahoe County seat, which is where county court business runs. For a woman rebuilding a routine, Aurora recovery housing means work, an outpatient appointment and a meeting can all be reached in a single day on transit.
Zen Mountain Women's Sober Homes Nearby
Zen Mountain runs other women's houses in Aurora, in Centennial and near the Denver Tech Center. Applications go through the operator, so a woman considering Phillips House is also being considered for the rest. Each house has its own character, and the operator is candid that they differ in size, age range and how social they run. A resident who needs a quieter or smaller household can ask for one.
