About this Recovery House
Monroe House is a women's recovery residence in Aurora, Colorado, in Arapahoe County, listed under Zen Mountain Sober Living, an operator running certified women's sober homes across the south and east Denver metropolitan area.
A Women's Recovery Home in Aurora
This is single-gender housing for women. Zen Mountain's model across its residences is a furnished house in a residential neighborhood, with shared common areas, a full kitchen and a yard, where residents keep the household running between them. Treatment, prescribers and meetings sit outside the house. What the address supplies is stability, other women working the same program, and a routine that holds up on the days motivation does not.
Certified Sober Living in Colorado
Colorado's recovery residences are certified by ORH-CO, the certifying body approved by the state Behavioral Health Administration and Colorado's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification is issued residence by residence, and the operator behind Monroe House holds it on several of its addresses. Because House Bill 19-1009 ties state referrals and funding to that certification, anyone applying should ask which specific address a certificate covers. Certification is not the only mark of a sound house, and it is the one a resident can check against a public list.
Aurora Sober Houses and Arapahoe County Geography
Aurora is Colorado's third-largest city and spreads east and south from Denver. The Anschutz Medical Campus sits inside the city, RTD light rail runs the I-225 corridor toward both Denver and the Denver Tech Center, and Littleton, several miles southwest, is the seat of Arapahoe County. Entry-level employment is deep here, which is why so many women leaving treatment in the smaller communities on the eastern plains end up looking at Aurora recovery housing first.
What to Ask About This Aurora Recovery Residence
Applications for this house go to Zen Mountain Sober Living, which also places women in its other Aurora, Centennial and Denver Tech Center homes. The useful questions are concrete: whether this address is currently taking residents, what the monthly rate covers, whether a house manager lives on site, how bedrooms are assigned, whether medication for opioid use disorder is accepted, and what the discharge policy says. A certified operator has to put those answers in writing.
