Lotus Lodge - Uvalda Recovery House

South Uvalda Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80012

About this Recovery House

Lotus Lodge - Uvalda is a certified sober house in Aurora, Colorado, in Arapahoe County, one of three recovery residences run by a nurse-owned operator working across Aurora and Centennial.

Medication Supported Sober Living

Medication-assisted treatment, including buprenorphine products such as Suboxone, is accepted here, and the company is owned by certified addiction nurses. Those two facts belong together. Recovery housing that refuses medication forces a resident to choose between a bed and a prescription, and the choice usually costs both. Colorado's Behavioral Health Administration supports medication for opioid use disorder statewide, and a house run by addiction nurses is well placed to handle it as ordinary care.

Who Lives in This Recovery Residence

Residents are adults 21 and older, in single-gender houses, with men's and women's residences kept at separate addresses. The conditions of residency are stated plainly by the operator: attend a partial hospitalization program, an intensive outpatient program, work or school; attend recovery meetings; carry house chores; stay sober and submit to testing. Case management and peer support are staffed and billed separately, so the accountability does not rest on housemates alone.

Published Rates for This Sober Home

Housing runs $1,050 a month, case management and peer support $500 a month, and the combined cash rate is $1,550 a month, with a $200 intake fee. Scholarships are available to people who qualify, and rent subsidy is listed against this operator in the state directory.

Certification of Colorado Sober Houses

All of this operator's residences are certified by Colorado's approved certifying body, the state affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, and the certification is renewed annually. Certification requires fees and house rules in writing before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, a code of ethics, and a complaint process outside the house. House Bill 19-1009 makes certification the condition for accepting state referrals and funding.

Sober Living in Aurora and Arapahoe County

Aurora is the third-largest city in Colorado, covering the eastern side of the Denver metropolitan area, with the Anschutz Medical Campus on its north side and RTD light rail along the I-225 corridor. Littleton is the Arapahoe County seat. Methadone and buprenorphine providers cluster in this part of the metro, which matters when a medication requires regular in-person contact.
