About this Sober House

Foundation House is a men's sober living home in Flagstaff, Arizona, in Coconino County. It sits on Route 66 on the east side of the city and has offered peer-run sober housing to men in recovery from alcoholism for close to two decades.

A Men's Sober House on Route 66

Foundation House serves men only, and the house keeps that focus simple: one set of rules and one group of housemates working the same program. Route 66 runs through Flagstaff's east side, connecting residents to the rest of the city without requiring a car from day one.

A Peer-Led Structure Built on the Steps

The house runs on twelve-step principles: no clinical staff, just residents attending regular meetings, working with a sponsor, and following written guidelines backed by random drug screening. Each resident takes on household chores as part of daily life.

Work Is Part of Recovery Here

Foundation House expects residents to work roughly six hours a day, a structure common to sober living homes across Arizona: something to do, somewhere to be, and less time alone with early sobriety. House meetings give residents a regular forum to raise problems before they become reasons to leave.

Flagstaff Recovery Housing in Coconino County

Flagstaff is the seat of Coconino County and the largest city in northern Arizona, with Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff Medical Center, and a full slate of outpatient providers inside the city limits. Interstate 40 and Interstate 17 both pass through, giving residents a route to jobs and appointments across the region without leaving the county.

Who Foundation House Is For

The house suits men who have finished detox or residential treatment and want an established, low-cost peer environment to keep building a routine. It is an entry-level option: informal, inexpensive, and built around accountability between housemates.

More on Our Sober House We, alcoholics, find the help and support we need from each other. Although we may come from different neighborhoods, we have all walked down the same road; a road only familiar to an alcoholic. Only an alcoholic can relate to how we drink and what can happen when we drink. This mutual experience and understanding is the basis for the fellowship that we develop with each other. One alcoholic talking to another is key to building a foundation for a sober life. The Foundation Sober  House provides a safe sober-living environment for this fellowship and understanding to begin.
