About WisHope

WisHope is a peer-run sober living operator based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, running five recovery homes across Waukesha County and supporting people in recovery statewide.

A Peer-Run Recovery Housing Operator

Operating since 2016 as Project WisHope, the organization is a 501(c)(3) Recovery Community Organization built around lived recovery experience. It describes its work as providing resources, education, advocacy and peer support to people recovering from addiction and mental health conditions, with recovery housing as one piece of that mission.

Five WisHope Recovery Homes

WisHope supervises and manages five structured recovery homes:

• The Recovery Village, in Waukesha, certified at NARR Level II with sixty-nine beds.
• Sunset House, in Waukesha, certified at NARR Level II with eight beds.
• Lawnsdale House, in New Berlin, certified at NARR Level II with twelve beds.
• The Lois House, in Waukesha, registered with the state for eight residents.
• The Farm, in Waukesha, registered with the state for eight residents.

The spread in size is the useful part. A resident coming out of treatment into a sixty-nine-bed program and one who needs an eight-person household are both housed by the same operator, so a move between them does not mean starting over with a stranger.

Serving Waukesha and Beyond

WisHope's stated service area reaches Milwaukee, Waukesha, Sauk, Waupaca and Rock counties and describes itself as working statewide. Its Waukesha base gives it direct access to the county's Recovery Community Center, one of two the organization runs, along with a second in Waupaca. New Berlin, where Lawnsdale House sits, borders Waukesha and shares the same courts, outpatient providers and Milwaukee-area job market.

Recovery Coach Training and Community Programs

Beyond housing, WisHope runs a five-day intensive Recovery Coach Training program and Narcan training, and reports supporting more than seventeen hundred people through its recovery housing program with over a hundred and sixty housing scholarships awarded.

Certification and Registration Across the Portfolio

Three of the five houses carry NARR Level II certification through the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing, the state's only NARR affiliate, and the other two appear on the state's separate voluntary registry. Both lists are voluntary in Wisconsin and neither is a license. An operator holding certification on three addresses has accepted a published code of ethics and an outside complaint process on those houses, which is the one credential a family can actually check.

WisHope can be reached through its Waukesha office for questions about any of its five recovery homes, its recovery coaching programs or its housing scholarship fund. No street address is published for any of the houses, so placement is arranged with the organization before a resident sees the property.
