Stepping into the Light
About Stepping into the Light
Stepping into the Light is a sober living operator and ministry in St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1994 and providing certified recovery housing in the city.
A St. Louis Ministry Founded in 1994
Founder Jerome Bracely has led Stepping into the Light for more than three decades, beginning with inpatient prevention work before growing into the housing and rehabilitation program it runs today. That length of operating history is uncommon among the newer recovery-housing organizations entering Missouri's certification list.
MCRSP Certification Without a State Mandate
Missouri does not require certification of a recovery residence. Stepping into the Light has certified its house through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers regardless, committing to a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules, and outside complaint review.
Where This Operator Works
The ministry's base is the city of St. Louis, where its decades of presence have built the kind of local referral relationships a newer program has not had time to establish.
Reaching Stepping into the Light
Applications go through the ministry directly. Worth asking: how the intake process works, what fees and the relapse and discharge policy cover, and how the program's long history in the city shapes its referral relationships with local treatment providers.
