Skyline Recovery
About Skyline Recovery
Skyline Recovery is a nonprofit sober living operator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, running recovery residences across Allegheny County.
A Nonprofit Sober Living Operator in Pittsburgh
Skyline Recovery is organized as a nonprofit, which means it answers to a board and to nonprofit reporting requirements instead of to a single owner. That structure is disclosed on the state licensing record for its houses.
Sober Living Homes in Allegheny County
Skyline Recovery runs three houses:
- A men's sober house on Termon Avenue in Pittsburgh.
- A women's sober house on Brookline Boulevard in Pittsburgh.
- A men's sober house on Franklin Avenue in Wilkinsburg.
Keeping men and women in separate buildings under one nonprofit means a resident who later needs a different environment has another address to raise with an organization that already has a record on him or her.
Serving Men and Women Separately
None of Skyline Recovery's houses is mixed-gender. Men apply to the Termon Avenue or Franklin Avenue houses, and women apply to the Brookline Boulevard house, and each keeps its own bedrooms, bathrooms and house meetings single-gender throughout.
DDAP Licensure Across the Portfolio
Skyline Recovery's houses carry a license from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs under Act 59 of 2017. Licensure is voluntary in Pennsylvania, so carrying it across its houses is a choice Skyline Recovery has made, not a requirement it was forced into. More on the process is in Pennsylvania's certification and licensing guide.
A Presence in Wilkinsburg
Beyond the city of Pittsburgh, Skyline Recovery also runs a men's sober house in Wilkinsburg, a borough bordering the city's eastern edge. That gives the nonprofit a second base within Allegheny County for men who need a different placement.
Applying to a Skyline Recovery House
Applications go through Skyline Recovery directly, not through any single house. That is the practical case for a multi-house nonprofit operator: a transfer between its houses, if one is ever needed, is a conversation with an organization that already knows the resident.
